Ruben is a Spanish Galgo, approximately 1 year old.  He was discovered in the Dog Pound at Los Infiernos with a broken front leg.  The injury was an old one, and the elbow joint had calcified.  Ruben could only drag his foot along the floor, which over time would have caused ulcerations.  On veterinary advice, the leg required amputation in order to provide better freedom of movement without complications at a later date.  The operation has been successful and Ruben is now running around on three good legs, without the pain and the burden of the broken limb. He is vaccinated and neutered and micro chipped.  He tested negative for Leishmania and Heartworm and has had his Rabies injections.
